Nice to meet you!

Hi! My name is Cristina and this was my horse, Gus. He is my inspiration and motivation to provide equine massage therapy to other horses. Gus loves his massages very much and is excited for other horses to experience them as well.

Ex racehorse turned jumper.
Gus the jumping giraffe donkey!

Who is Cristina

I began with horses in 1984. I spent my entire childhood at the barn and when I was 12, we had horses at home as well. I competed in the A circuit in the hunters and jumpers in Alberta, B.C. and Saskatchewan. I had different show horses over 15 years. My last show horse was a racehorse I bought straight from the track that I trained by myself, with a coach on the ground. We ended our show career in the 3'6" hunters and jumpers. At home, my mom ran an Connemara breeding program that I helped out with. In 2000 I moved to Mexico and was unable to bring my horse with me. The next 20 years brought many changes in my life and not nearly enough horses. My children began riding and horses came back to my life. In 2019 I half leased a horse and by 2020 I had bought my first horse in 2 decades! Another racehorse .... oh. boy!! And that takes us to Gus....

Who is Gus

Gus was born in 2010 and had a 4 year racing career as "Crowns Dancer" providing some jump out of your seat wins! He then changed careers and moved several times until he found me in the middle of the COVID-19 pandemic in the fall of 2020. Several moves and time off due to the pandemic, made a very scared Gus and a scared Gus is an angry, defensive, aggressive Gus! Since I had been away from horses for awhile, a new, aggressive horse was unsettling to me. Gus and I had a rocky start and it took months for us to get to know each other. I provided him with all the care I could to help him and to help me learn more about him - vet, chiropractic, farrier, trainer, teen leaser and endless reading and studying.... it all helped but it wasn't until one day I took the Chiropractor's recommended massages several steps further and spent a good 40 minutes focusing on Gus and his reaction to different massages. When his head lowered and he sighed we had a BREAKTHROUGH!!! That was a Gus I had never seen before. 8 months later and he was finally able to breath and relax. Massage became a part of our every day routine and made a massive improvement in our relationship on the ground and under saddle. Massage made him a cuddly, kiss loving horse who no longer bucked in the corners when being ridden!

Gus has a new hone now with a lovely young girl that is his perfect match 🤩
